When we were doin' camping the Mt. Lattarico, Southern Italy, everytime we passed on a stream, I always encounter this creature....it looks like a "salamander" but am not sure because this animal loves to stay in the water, infact every time i saw it, it's in the water, may be because its summer time or it could be an a(c)quatic salamander...
It's a beautiful creature though....the place is fantastic....i could say, its the real treasure of Calabria...peaceful, fresh water flowing all the time, streams everywhere....mother nature is very kind in that place....
About this gentle creature, can somebody tell me what is this precisely...
Thanks!!!

Hi Angel! It's a Fire Salamander. Apparently they're very long lived. Up to fifty years. It's certainly a beautiful creature. I'd love to see one in the wild but we don't have them here in the UK. Unfortunately. James.
